HERBERT L. BYNUM

Herbert Lee ``Sonny'' Bynum, 55, of the first block of Paulison Ave., died July 10, 1994, in Passaic General Hospital.

Mr. Bynum, a native of Southampton County, Va., was the son of the late Robert Bynum Sr. and Dora Eley Bynum of Franklin, Va. He was employed with Beacham Industries for 27 years. He was a member of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church, the Male Chorus, Missionary Society, Mass Choir and founder of The Messengers and was a volunteer for the Boys Club.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by four brothers, Robert Bynum Jr., William Bynum, both of Franklin, Edward Bynum of Newsoms, Va., and Raymond Bynum of Miami; seven sisters, Willie Mae Council, Shirley Murphy, both of Franklin, Cynthia Artis, Jacqueline Picot, both of Courtland, Catherine Boyd, Betty Bynum and Annie Crawford, all of Passaic; and a god-daughter, Lisa McDowell.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in White Oak Spring Baptist Church, Franklin, Va., by the Rev. Eddie Lee Jr. Burial will be in Moore Cemetery, Delaware Road, Franklin. Elvin Vaughan Funeral Home, Franklin, is in charge.
