Ronald Gregory Hunter, 35, of the 7000 block of Caribou Ave., a housekeeper, died July 12, 1994.
He was born in Portsmouth, son of William B. Downing of Portsmouth and the late Legolia L. Hunter Lee. He was employed with the Hampton Inn on Hampton Blvd. He was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church, Norfolk, and the Chancel Choir.
In addition to his father, he is survived by four sisters, Deborah McNair, Cathleen Staples and Legolia Lee, all of Portsmouth, and Arlene Charles of High Point, N.C.; one brother, William Hunter of Wichita, Kan.; one aunt, Phyllis Anderson of New York; and one great-aunt, Ruby Cole of Norfolk; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in First Calvary Baptist Church, Norfolk, by Dr. J.L. White Sr. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 10 a.m to 8 p.m. today at Serenity Funeral Home, Portsmouth, and from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, where they will assemble Saturday at 11:15 a.m. for the processional to the church.
