OTIS L. TURNER

Otis Lee Turner, 66, of the 4100 block of Shelia Crescent, died July 13, 1994, in DePaul Medical Center.

Mr. Turner was a native of South Mills, N.C., the son of Mattie Bogues Turner Whitfield of Norfolk and the late Walter Turner. He was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church, Lamberts Point, and was an Army veteran. He worked at Norfolk & Western Railroad for 17 years before becoming a residential and commercial plasterer. He had worked for Mollette Construction Co. After leaving Mollette, he was self-employed as a plastering contractor.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Ida Mae Turner, and daughter, Shelia Y. Turner, of the home; a son, Ricky A. Crawley of Tallahassee, Fla.; his stepfather, the Rev. Hugh Whitfield; and a sister, Dorothy T. Mitchell of South Mills, N.C.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in First Missionary Baptist Church, Lamberts Point, 38th St. at Blue Stone Ave., by the Rev. M.L. Williams. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Riddick Funeral Service, Norfolk. The body will be placed in church at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. The family will be at 5737 Roper Drive, Norfolk.
