Jesse F. Johnson Sr., 91, formerly of the 300 block of Robin Road, died July 17, 1994, in Portsmouth.
Mr. Johnson was a native of Alamance County, N.C., and was the widower of Ella Ruth Johnson. He was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a rigger and attended First Friends Church in Portsmouth.
Survivors include one daughter, Margaret Deane of Portsmouth; three sons, Jesse F. Johnson Jr. of Portsmouth, R. Linwood Johnson of Elizabeth City and Robert E. ``Bob'' Johnson of Suffolk; 12 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Friends Church by the Rev. Earl W. Freeland. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and other times at 5733 Brookmere Lane, Portsmouth.
