William Jessie ``Teeny'' Roper Sr., 61, of the 5500 block of Elgin Road, died July 17, 1994, in his residence.
Mr. Roper was born in Norfolk and was a Protestant. He was a superintendent with International Terminal Operators, Inc. (ITO), where he was employed for 43 years. He was also the former co-owner of Roper's Upholstery, Chesapeake.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie A. Roper; three daughters, Kimberly A. Ruffin and Beth E.R. Johnson, both of Virginia Beach, and Gena Doreen of Norfolk; three sons, William J. Roper Jr., David C. Roper and Michael C. Roper, all of Virginia Beach; his father, Frank Roper Sr. of Orange County, Calif.; one sister, Alberta Wilcox of Virginia Beach; one brother, Frank Roper Jr. of Norfolk; and 14 grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Rosewood Memorial Park by the Rev. Jesse Jackson. Friends may join the family at Kellum Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, Pleasant Hall, from 7 to 9 p.m. today and at the residence at all other times.
