The city of Chesapeake has allocated a total of $75 million to
upgrade the water treatment system at its Northwest River treatment
plant. A story Wednesday did not reflect the project's total cost.
The $8.7 million approved by City Council last week is for design
engineering, pilot work, start-up and inspection.
The headline on Monday's Dear Abby column did not reflect the
contents; it should have been, ``Mom should not be worried about
son's doll-playing.''
The Independence is due to arrive at Newport News Shipyard today.
A listing of vessel arrivals in Monday's Business Weekly had the
wrong shipyard.
CLARIFICATION
A graphic Friday, ``When lightning strikes,'' included a list of
things to do in a thunderstorm, including ``stay under a large group
of trees.'' That is correct. However, you should not stay under a
lone tree or a small group of trees or any object that stands out.
