Edward B. ``Dickie'' Allen Sr., 58, of the 2500 block of St. Brides West, died Sunday, at his residence.
Mr. Allen was born in Norfolk, Va., and was the son of Mabel E. Allen of Chesapeake and the late Raleigh R. Allen. He was the president of Allen Electrical Repair Service, Chesapeake.
Other survivors include his wife, Iris Allen; his son, Edward B. Allen Jr.; his daughter and son-in-law, Robert and Susan Allen Gibbs, all of Chesapeake; three sisters, Alice Holloman, Mary Whitley and Betty Christenson, all of Chesapeake; five brothers, James S. Allen of Jacksonville, Fla., Fred W. Allen of Virginia Beach and G.H. ``Buddy'' Allen, Phil R. Allen and John Allen, all of Chesapeake; and four grandchildren, Amie and Ashley Allen, both of Ivor and Amber and Adam Gibbs, both of Chesapeake.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Tom Mercer. The family will receive friends at the Oman Family Funeral Home, Great Bridge, on Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
