RALPH C. MORRIS

   Ralph Clinton Morris, 82, of the 4900 block of West Norfolk Road, died July
24, 1994, in a hospital.
   Mr. Morris was a retired superintendent of Shop 17, Norfolk Naval Shipyard.
He was a member of Port Norfolk Baptist Church and former president and member
of the I'Anson Bible Class; retired director of Tidewater Vocational Center, 
Portsmouth Agency; charter member, past master and past secretary of 
Washington-Layafette Lodge (NU)176, AF & AM; a 50-year member of Masonic 
Fraternity, Mount Horeb Royal Arch Chapter (NU)11; Portsmouth Scottish Rite 
Bodies; charter member of Portsmouth Forest-Tall Cedars of Lebanon; held 
degree of super excellent master, Fayetteville Council (NU)27; honorary member
and past secretary and treasurer of Masters, Wardens and Deacons Association, 
34th Masonic District; member of AARP and Retirement Federation of Civil 
Serivce Employees.
   Survivors include his wife, Nellie L. Morris; a son, James L. Morris of 
Virginia Beach; a daughter, Linda M. Edwards of Marietta, Ga.; three 
stepdaughters, June Baker of Alexandria, Faye Parker of Portsmouth and Gloria 
Creecy of Chesapeake; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
   A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Olive Branch 
Cemetery by Dr. Ector Hamrick. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today in 
Loving Funeral Home, Churchland. Memorial contributions may be made to 
Lillians Loving Care, 3736 Turnpike Road, Portsmouth, Va.
