LOIS JACOBS FARE

   Lois Fare, 79, a longtime resident of Virginia Beach, passed away on July 
22, after a brief illness while visiting her daughter in Hammondsport, N.Y. 
   Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., she moved to Valley Stream, N.Y. in 1930 and lived
there until the death of her husband, Arthur W. Fare, in 1972. While in 
Virginia Beach, she was a devoted volunteer of the King's Daughters, The 
Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd and Virginia Beach General Hospital. 
   She is survived by her daughters, Linda Fare of Cape Cod, Mass. and Joan 
Fare Griffin of Hammondsport, N.Y., and grandsons, Christopher and Craig 
Griffin of Virginia.  
   She will be buried next to her husband on July 27 at 1 p.m. at the Long 
Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, N.Y. There will be a memorial service 
at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shephard, 1489 Laskin Road, Virginia Beach 
on Aug. 7, at 2 p.m.
   The family has suggested in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to 
V.S.C.H.S.-Arthur and Lois Fare Memorial Music Scholarship Fund, Box 541, 
Hammondsport, N.Y. 14840.
