ETHEL P. TANGES

   Ethel Yates Powell Tanges of Ormond Beach, died July 24, 1994.
   Mrs. Tanges was the widow of John H. Tanges of Nyack, N.Y. and the daughter
of the late Freeman and Helen Yates Powell. She was descended from Robert 
Powell, who settled in Berkley County, W.Va. in 1780.
   Mr. and Mrs. Tanges owned Crestwood Dairy in Hempstead, N.Y., during World 
War II. Later they owned Sagtikos Manor Dairy in Bay Shore, N.Y., which they 
operated with their two children, Winifred and John Jr. The family moved from 
Long Island in the 1950s to the Daytona Beach area to raise cattle.
   Mrs. Tanges is survived by a daughter, Winifred E. Tanges of Virginia 
Beach; a son, John H. Tanges Jr. and his wife, Peggy, of Ormond Beach; three 
grandsons, John Henry Tanges III of Colorado, David R. Tanges and his wife, 
Anita, of Ormond Beach and Matthew David Angelo of Virginia Beach; and a 
great-granddaughter, Allison D. Tanges of Ormond Beach.
   She will be interred in the mausoleum at Edgewater Memorial Gardens, 
Edgewater, Fla., next to her husband. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven 
Chapel, is handling arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the SPCA 
of Virginia Beach, 3040 Holland Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23456.
