NUCLEAR PLANT GETS HIGH RATING
Virginia Power's Surry and North Anna nuclear power plants have made a
publishing company's Top 10 list of the biggest bargains for producing
electrical power in 1993.
The North Anna plant was called the fourth most efficient of the nation's
71 nuclear plants by the Washington-based Utility Data Institute. The Surry
plant was ranked No. 10.
The publisher bases its rankings on the average cost to produce a megawatt
hour of electricity.
``It's part plant design, part plant management and part luck,'' said Chris
Bergesen, vice president of UDI, a subsidiary of McGraw-Hill.
