A native of Peru who grew up in New Jersey, Miguel is a soccer fan (you can bet he was glued to the TV cheering for Brazil in the recent World Cup coverage); a Slurpee seller (he's a local 7-Eleven manager); and a Dr. Seuss reader (his 17-month-old daughter Kristine Elena is a Seuss fan).
When he's not working, watching or playing soccer or playing with his daughter, the former New Jersey Tech student, who came to Virginia Beach in 1990, likes to collect football cards and spend the day on the beach with his family.

Last dumb thing you did: Using my finger to see if a flameless lighter actually doesn't have a flame.
Favorite meal: Tostitos and nacho cheese dip.
