Samuel B. Rogers is the city's new marketing director.
Rogers, who started June 27, will manage the Virginia Waterfront campaign which jointly promotes Norfolk, Virginia Beach and Williamsburg as a major tourist destination.
He is executive vice president and director of public relations for Elkman Advertising and Public Relations in Philadelphia. Among his accounts are the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's tourism marketing program and the Pocono Mountains Vacation Bureau.
Dr. Jeanne C. Dillon has joined the medical staff at the NDC Medical Center. Dillon, who is board eligible in internal medicine, graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 1991.
James M. Pirkle, a 1988 graduate of Maury High School and a 1992 graduate of Villanova University, has been appointed as a stock option trader on the floor of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange for the TFM Investment Group of Philadelphia and Chicago. He is the son of Linda B. Pirkle of Norfolk.
Burt Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Miller of Norfolk, won a 1994-95 Davis Scholarship Award at Rochester Institute of Technology, where he is a third-year photographic illustration student. ILLUSTRATION: Miller
