`SHOWCASE' TO PLAY FRIDAY AT CONSTANT'S WHARF FOR SUMMER CELEBRATION '94

Suffolk Summer Celebration 1994 will showcase Friday a band known as ``Showcase.''

The five-member group offers a little bit of everything, from show and dance music to beach music, funk, oldies, disco, jazz and top-40.

One group member, Michael Carson, is band director at Nansemond River High School.

Suffolk Summer Celebration, a local version of a TGIF concert, is free and open to the public.

Sponsors include the city's Department of Parks and Recreation, Suffolk Festivals Inc., Budweiser and Q-94 Radio.

The concert runs from 5 to 8 p.m. The place is Constant's Wharf - unless it rains. In that case, drive over to the National Guard Armory. MEMO: For more information on Suffolk Summer Celebration 1994, call 925-6325.
