Essie B. Coston, 84, of the 300 block of Pratt Court, died July 27, 1994, in Sentara Bayside Hospital.
Mrs. Coston was born in Portsmouth and was the widow of Wesley C. Coston Jr. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Virginia Beach.
Survivors include a daughter, Annie M. Clark of Virginia Beach; three sons, Wesley C. Coston III of Virginia Beach, Robert P. Coston and Oakley E. Coston, both of Newark, N.J.; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Ebenezer Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. C.K. Jones. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. today in Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth. The body will be taken to the church at noon Saturday. Family and friends will assemble at the church at 3 p.m. Saturday for the funeral service.
