Allen K. Payne, 86, of Lake Shores, a retired Civil Service employee, died July 28, 1994, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
Mr. Payne was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He had retired from the Fifth Naval District Engineering Command. He was a graduate of Lafayette College of Pennsylvania with a degree in chemistry and science.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Payne. He is survived also by a sister-in-law and her husband, Doris and Erik Johansson of Miami Beach, Fla.; two nephews, Karl Erik Johansson of Miami Beach, Fla. and Wayne C. Johansson of Laguna Hills, Calif.; and one cousin, Hazel Brownfoot of Black Mountain, N.C.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Road Chapel, by the Rev. Warren Wilson. Burial will be private at a later date.
Contributions may be made to the Virginia Beach SPCA in memory of Mr. Payne.
