Cornelius Jackson Stringer, 76, of the 200 block of Sandpiper Drive, a retired storeman, died July 31, 1994, in his residence.
Mr. Stringer was a native of Portsmouth and was retired from the Norfolk Naval Air Station after 30 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Beazley Senior Citizens Center.
Survivors include a brother, Richard R. Stringer Sr. of Portsmouth; three nephews, Richard R. Stringer Jr. and Edward Darden, both of Portsmouth, and Howard Darden of Lake Gaston, Va.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Oak Grove Cemetery by Dr. Phillip R. Martin. The family will be at Loving Funeral Home, Churchland, from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
