Jacqueline ``Jackie'' Lavern Cherry, 40, of the 1200 block of Godfrey Ave., died July 31, 1994.
She was born in Portsmouth.
Survivors include two daughters, Lawanna Beatrice Cherry, Latetia Janell Cherry, both of Portsmouth; five brothers, Donald A. Cherry, Darryl L. Cherry, Daniel A. Cherry, all of Portsmouth, Arvelt Cobb of Washington, D.C., and Herbert Goode of Philadelphia; five sisters, Lalar Giles, Sharline Payne, Cheryl Eady, all of Portsmouth, Alveria Hoffler of Elizabeth City and Evangeline Whitfield of Philadelphia; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1p.m. Thursday in New First Baptist Church Taylorsville, Portsmouth, by Dr. T.M. Steele. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Family and friends will assemble at 111 Howard St., Portsmouth, at 12:15 p.m. Thursday for the processional to the church. Serenity Funeral Home, Portsmouth, is handling arrangements.
