Ronald T. Wakeham, director of Norfolk's Fire and Paramedical Services, has been appointed by Gov. George Allen to the Virginia Fire Services Board. His four-year appointment began in July.
The 15-member board coordinates the efforts of fire service organizations at state and local levels and establishes statewide policy for training of fire personnel.
Wakeham is a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, the International Association of Arson Investigators, the National Fire Protection Association and the National Society of Executive Fire Officers.
