Nicholas Olah, 84, of the 400 block of Bracknell Arch, died Saturday at his residence.
Mr. Olah was born in Yonkers, N.Y., and was the son of the late Mike and Magdaline Olah. He had retired from the State Highway Department after 45 years of service and had also retired from the City of Virginia Beach. Mr. Olah was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church and also served for many years as a volunteer firefighter.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Curling Olah of Chesapeake; four daughters, Elizabeth Scarborough of Kitty Hawk, N.C., Arline Ferrell and Margaret Lanier, both of Chesapeake and Linda Yount of Chicora, Pa.; five sons, Robert Olah, Nicholas Lee Olah, Richard Olah and Tommy Olah, all of Chesapeake and Eugene Olah of Chrisfield, Md.; 36 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Oman Family Funeral Home, Great Bridge, by the Rev. Robert Sowder and Dr. Roscoe Musselwhite. Burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
