Gus George Polizos, 66, of the 3000 block of Milford Lane, a retired guidance counselor, died August 12, 1994.
Mr. Polizos was a native of Norfolk, and was a member of The Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation. He was also a member of Bow Creek Men's Golf Association, Virginia Beach Education Association, Virginia Education Association and the National Education Association.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine M. Polizos; a daughter, Andrea Lee Polizos of Surry, N.H.; his mother, Lefki E. Polizos of Norfolk; a sister, Jeanne Polizos Bolding of Virginia Beach; a brother, Arthur G. Polizos of Norfolk; two nieces, Dina Rand of Farminghills, Mich., and Lynn T. Polizos of Norfolk; a nephew George A. Polizos of Norfolk; a godson James Brown; and other nieces and nephews.
A church service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in The Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation by Father Savas C. Constantinou and Father Charles Goumenis. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk. The family will receive friends in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Rd. Chapel, today from 2 to 4 p.m. followed by a Trisagion Service at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the The Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, 7220 Granby Street, Norfolk, Va. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Rd. Chapel, will be handling the arrangements.
