Sara Mae Chappell Byrum Bradford, 77, a homemaker, died Aug. 14, 1994, in Ghent Arms Retirement Home, Norfolk.
Mrs. Bradford was born in Belvidere, N.C. She was a member of Lafayette Presbyterian Church. Sara dedicated her life to her church, her family and her friends.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Wise Bradford; three daughters, Sandra B. Wood of Portsmouth, Mary E. Ricketts and Wilma Bradford Ford, both of Norfolk; a son, Donald Roy Byrum of Wichita, Kan.; two sisters, Attie Price of Crisfield, Md., and Mary White of Belvidere, N.C.; three brothers, Howard Chappell of Sunbury, N.C., Edward Chappell of St. Louis, Mo., and Hemby Chappell of Vacaville, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Lafayette Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Fred Sanner. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
