Erie Linwood Bass, 86, of the 7400 block of Major Ave., a retired driver, died Aug. 14, 1994, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Bass was born in Hertford, N.C., and was retired from Virginia Transit Co. He was a member of Park Place Baptist Church and Norview Masonic Lodge (NU)113.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Mayes Bass; a daughter, Edna B. Smith of Palm Coast, Fla.; two sisters, Kathryn B. Farmer of Norfolk and Iris B. Pike of Gettysburg, Pa.; a brother, James S. Bass Jr. of Hertford, N.C.; three grandchildren, Deborah K. Jett of Virginia Beach, Stacey L. Pothier of Seattle and Leroy F. Carter Jr. of Toms River, N.J.; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Dr. Paul B. Watlington Jr. The family will be at the residence. Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements. Donations may be made to Park Place Baptist Church or to a charity of choice.
