Jessie Sheppard, 61, of the 5500 block of Towne Point Road, a retired custodian, died Aug. 15, 1994, in Maryview Medical Center, Portsmouth.
Mr. Sheppard was born in Norfolk County and was retired from the Portsmouth Public School System.
Survivors include three daughters, Gwendolyn Cook, Margo Trotter and Karen Trotter, and three sons, Jessie Trotter, Curtis Trotter and Mark Trotter, all of Portsmouth; three sisters, Virginia Evans and Mary Lee Walters, both of Baltimore, and Louise Bullock of Portsmouth; a brother, Earnest Sheppard of Portsmouth; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a son-in-law, Curtis Cook of Portsmouth; three brothers-in-law, John Evans and Robert L. Walters, both of Baltimore, and Bennie Bullock Sr. of Portsmouth; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth, by the Rev. Arceleous Elliott Jr. Burial will be in Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. The family will be at the home of his daughter, Gwendolyn Cook, 3701 Greenleaf Trail, Portsmouth.
