Raymond Earnest Walker Sr. passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on Aug. 15, 1994.
He was born and raised in Norfolk and attended Maury High School. He was a self-made man, creating and operating many businesses. His last business was the Virginia Beach Speedway Go-Kart Track, from which he retired after 30 years of operation.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Norma E. Walker; four children, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was a devoted husband and loving father, and we will all miss him greatly.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted in Forest Lawn Cemetery on Thursday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Ron Wienke. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today and at 1362 Boxwood Circle, Norfolk, at other times.
