JOSIE B. POPE

Josie Boone Pope, 80, of Route 2, died Aug. 15, 1994, in a nursing home.

She was a native of Northampton County and a member of Galatia Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary P. Gay of Seaboard; two sons, Jerry Pope of Conway and Ralph W. Pope of Greenville, S.C.; four sisters, Lottie Edwards of Seaboard, Nettie Williams of Weldon, N.C., Helen Lanier and Betty Griggs, both of Conway; two brothers, Robert Boone of Portsmouth and John Boone of Kill Devil Hills; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Galatia Baptist Church by the Rev. Lonnie Armstrong and the Rev. David Foster. Burial will follow in Conway Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Conway-Severn Rescue Squad or Galatia Baptist Church. Jackson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
