Herbert Cornick Sr., of the 700 block of Cason Lane, died Aug. 16, 1994.
Mr. Cornick was born in Princess Anne County and was retired from the Virginia Agriculture Experimental Station. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, chairman of the Deacon Board, member of the Male Chorus and a member of Masonic Washington Lodge (NU)139. He was honored by Ebenezer Baptist Church as an outstanding member for over 55 years of service in many capacities.
Survivors include his wife, Mable Cornick; two daughters, Flora L. Cornick and Mary E. Wiggins, both of Virginia Beach; two sons, Richard Cornick of Virginia Beach and Cornell Cornick of Arizona; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Ebenezer Baptist Church, 875 Baker Road, by the Rev. C.K. Jones. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday in Community Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel.
