FORT STORY URGES CAUTION NEAR BASE DURING MILITARY DRILL

Officials at Fort Story have asked motorists and boaters near the base to use extra caution this week because of a 24-hour-a-day exercise under way there.

Land and marine traffic is heavy during SEDRE '94, Wednesday through Sunday. The exercise tests the movement of helicopters and other equipment from ship to shore.

SEDRE - Sea Early Deployment and Readiness Exercise - is being conducted by units of the 101st Airborne and the Aviation Task Force at Fort Campbell, Ky., and by units from Little Creek Naval Amphibious Base and the Army's Fort Story and Fort Eustis.

Tourist attractions at Fort Story, including the Cape Henry Lighthouse and the Virginia Capes memorial, will remain open. by CNB
