A COUNTING CROWS concert scheduled for Aug. 30 at Hampton's Strawberry Banks has been canceled.
The band, whose debut album, ``August and Everything After,'' is triple platinum, has dropped a series of 17 tour dates due to exhaustion.
``I guess the main thing is that the shows were starting to suffer,'' said singer Adam Duritz in a statement issued by the David Geffen Company. ``In the end, you don't do this to sell records, you do it because you love to play music and you need to play music. So when the music started to suffer, we figured it was time to take a break. We are all a bit beat.''
Counting Crows recently opened two Washington, D.C., concerts at the start of the Rolling Stones' American tour.
