Marie Tabit Shepheard, 80, of the 6000 block of River Crescent, a homemaker, died Aug. 21, 1994, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mrs. Shepheard was born in Norfolk. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Norfolk, and formerly an active member of First Presbyterian Church, Norfolk. She was a member of Suburban Park Woman's Club, Elizabeth River Woman's Club, Lookout Circle of King's Daughters Children's Hospital, a charter member of My Favorite Things Doll Club, an avid gardener and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, William L. Shepheard, Sr.; a daughter, Lynnette S. Regan of Virginia Beach; two sons, William L. Shepheard Jr. and Thomas E. Shepheard, both of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Helen Tabit Taylor and Norma Tabit Demmin, both of Norfolk; a brother, Frank Leslie Tabit of Norfolk; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth M. Heil, William L. Shepheard, David M. Shepheard, Stephen D. Shepheard, Jeffrey T. Regan, Justin E.T. Shepheard and Cooper J. Shepheard; a sister-in-law, Lorain Tischler of Norfolk; and a brother-in-law, Donald R. Lottingham of Norfolk.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church by the Rev. Robert A. Edwards. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to National Downs Syndrome Congress or First United Methodist Church, Norfolk.
