Walter Reitz, 66, of the 400 block of Big Pine Drive, died Aug. 20, 1994, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
Mr. Reitz was born in New York City and was retired from the U.S. Navy as an HMC after 23 years. He was a veteran of World War II and Korea. He was also retired from Pantry Pride.
Survivors include his wife, Madeline Amelia Schnepf Reitz; four sons, Kenneth Reitz, Steven Reitz, both of Virginia Beach, Robert Reitz, U.S. Army, Germany, and Richard Reitz of Chesapeake; a sister, Martha Halifko of New Jersey; and 10 grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, by the Rev. Ernest L. Trueblood. Burial will be private. The family will be at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Plaza Rescue Squad, Virginia Beach.
