Mary Elizabeth Bembry Paxton, 93, widow of William C. Paxton, died in Chowan Hospital on Aug. 21, 1994.
She was the daughter of the late Issac Bembry and Betty Bembry Sutton.
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Marian Paxton Jones of the home; one son, James W. Paxton of Britthaven of Edenton; one granddaughter, Gwen K. Chandler of Miami; one son-in-law, D.W. Jones; eight grandchildren; 15 stepgreat-grandchildren; and one sister, Della Spruill of Portsmouth.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Locust Grove AME Zion Church by Pastor Rev. Glen S. Robinson. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Blair Funeral Services is in charge.
