OTTO E. JOHNSON

Otto E. Johnson, 84, formerly of the Cradock section of Portsmouth, died Aug. 22, 1994, in Ocala, Fla.

Mr. Johnson was a native of Namsos, Norway. He was retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation as a construction instructor and was a member of Ironworkers Local (NU)79, Norfolk.

Survivors include his wife, Forest Marcella Johnson; three daughters, Elaine Hewitt and Marilyn Hackworth, both of Chesapeake, and Catherine Johnson of Robbins, N.C.; two sons, Bob A. Johnson of Portsmouth and Raymond Johnson of Chesapeake; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine M. Johnson.

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday and other times at 14 Harrower Court, Portsmouth.
