Motion to appropriate $175,000 from the Capital Improvements Fund for structural repairs to the Edinburgh Square Parking Garage and a motion to award the contract to Virtexco Corp. This work is the first of several future phases of repair work required in the Edinburgh Square Parking Garage. Approved, 7-0
Motion to appropriate $145,000 from the Capital Improvements Fund to cover the increased cost of the proposed atrium for the Children's Museum and adoption of a motion to exceed the 25 percent allowable limit for change orders with Commonwealth Construction Co. Approved, 6-1; Clemons opposed
Motion to authorize a referendum to issue $22.9 million in General Obligation Public Utility Bonds for the city. Projects will include continuation of Master Rehabilitation Plan, mandated water plant improvements, identified neighborhood improvements and other structural repairs and equipment. Approved, 7-0
Motion to amend Section 35-2 of the city code pertaining to the tax relief program. Enactment of this ordinance will provide the same due dates for real estate taxes for elderly or disabled persons who qualify for real estate exemptions. Approved, 7-0
Motion to amend the Articles of Incorporation of The Sports Authority of Hampton Roads. Adoption of the resolution would allow The Sports Authority of Hampton Roads to undertake multiple projects. Approved, 7-0
Motion to transfer $106,075 from the Grants Contingency Account to fund the Intensified Drug Enforcement Assistance Program for fiscal year 1995. This grant award will provide additional staff for drug cases with a priority in the seizure and forfeiture of drug assets. Approved, 7-0 by CNB
