Selma Holmes Beasley, 89, of Wanchese, N.C., died Saturday, Aug. 27, in a nursing home.
Mrs. Beasley, a native of Guide, N.C., was a former public school teacher for Dare County Schools and a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. She was the daughter of the late George Lee and Susie Olivia Cox Holmes and the widow of the late Henry Hampton Beasley.
Mrs. Beasley is survived by one daughter, Annie Aydlett of Chesapeake; one son, John Beasley of Wanchese, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Bethany United Methodist Church on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 1994 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Billy Holliday. Burial will follow in the Hilltop Cemetery, Colington. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Twiford Colony Chapel, Manteo, is in charge of arrangements.
