Alice Ellis Chance, 95, died Aug. 27, 1994, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Chance was born in South Hill, Va. She had retired from Armour Co. as a food products worker after 35 years. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and the Dorcus Bible Class. She was the widow of Stanley Hope Chance and was preceded in death by two daughters, Hazel C. Hoggard and Thelma Hogge Miller.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Frances H. Topper of Virginia Beach, Susan H. Williams of Midlothian, Va., and H. Stanley Hogge of Virginia Beach; one great-grandson, Geoffrey M. Williams of Midlothian; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Cornerstone Baptist Church by the Rev. Fred Braswell. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Blanford Cemetery, Petersburg. The family will be at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m.
