An 8-year-old boy was shot in an arm late Friday in a drive-by shooting. Police had no idea why the shooting occurred.
The boy, whose name was withheld, was not seriously hurt. He was treated at Chesapeake General Hospital and released.
The shooting occurred about 11:30 p.m. Friday in the 2800 block of Sunrise Ave.
Police said one of several occupants in a dark-colored utility vehicle - possible a Nissan Pathfinder or a Ford Bronco - fired at least one shot as they drove by.
