Helen A. Rooks, 77, formerly of San Diego, Calif., died Aug. 28, 1994 in Hillhaven-Nansemond Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
A native of Tower, Minn., she was the widow of Col. Percy A. Rooks, U.S. Air Force (Ret.).
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Elisbeth Lampton Elliott and Dr. George Elliott of Falls Church, Va.; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Lee D. Lampton and Jeanne Lampton of Suffolk; two sisters, Bertha Soderberg of Soudan, Minn., and Wilma Farrow of San Diego, Calif.; and three grandchildren, Sarah Lampton, David Lampton and Jonathan Lampton.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in El Camino Memorial Park, San Diego, and a memorial service will be held Saturday morning in St. Peter's By-the-Sea Lutheran Church, San Diego. Memorial donations may be made to the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, Va. 23434. R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
