Alma Shrieves Howard, 89, died Sunday, Aug. 28, 1994 in Accomack County Nursing Home, Parksley.
Mrs. Howard was born in Hunting Creek, Va., daughter of the late William Thomas Shrieves and Mattie Budd Shrieves. She was the widow of Walter S. Howard and a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Parksley.
Survivors include a daughter, Ellen Boyce of Parksley; two brothers, Calvin Shrieves of Florida and Robert Shrieves of Seward, Alaska; three grandchildren, Ann Powell and her husband, Matthew, of Wilmington, Del., A.D. Boyce III and his wife, Carolyn, of Salisbury, Md., and Robert Boyce of Parksley; and two great-grandchildren, Caitlin Powell and Carrie Boyce.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Thornton Funeral Home, Parksley. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Parksley Volunteer Fire Department, Parksley, Va. 23421, or to a charity of one's choice.
