Charles Winfield Dixon Jr., 37, of the 4900 block of Portsmouth Blvd., died Aug. 28, 1994, in his residence.
Mr. Dixon was a native of Norfolk and was retired from the City of Portsmouth, Department of Public Utilities. He was a graduate of Manor High School.
He was the beloved son of Charles W. Dixon Sr. of Chesapeake and the late Reiko Taguchi Dixon and stepmother, Catherine A. Dixon of Chesapeake. He is also survived by a sister, Charlene D. LeiBrand of Chesapeake; two half-sisters, Tara A. Dixon of Chesapeake and Linda D. Dickens of Portsmouth; two stepbrothers, Kenneth L. Layton and William K. Layton, both of Roseland, Va.; two brothers-in-law, Charles L. Dickens of Portsmouth and Allen LeiBrand of Chesapeake; two nieces, Crystal and Rachel LeiBrand of Chesapeake; two nephews, Jonathan and Christopher Dickens of Portsmouth; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James W. Dixon of Chesapeake; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Paul B. Strickland. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
