Douglas Lee Hobbs, 72, of Hemlock St., a retired welder, died Aug. 31, 1994 in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Hobbs was born in Wilmington, N.C., and was the widower of Emma H. Hobbs. He was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and Princess Anne Plumbing and Heating. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Campbell of Rockville, Md.; two sons, Donald T. Hobbs of Virginia Beach and P. Dale Hobbs of Norfolk; a sister, Patsy Bozeman of Shallotte, N.C.; three brothers, Cecil Hobbs of Wilmington, N.C., Howard Higdon of Charleston, S.C., and Willard Higdon of Tampa, Fla.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Warren Chapman. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday.
