A headline Wednesday erroneously said that civil rights activist
Rosa Parks was attacked in bed. She was assaulted Tuesday night
after hearing a noise in her Detroit home and going downstairs to
investigate. In an earlier version of the Associated Press story,
police said she had been attacked in bed.
Nebraska Sen. Bob Kerrey's name was misspelled in a front-page
political roundup Wednesday and in a headline on page A2. A wrong
page number was given for that and other related stories.
Chesapeake applicants for a gun-purchase permit or
concealed-weapon permit have to pay two separate fees, not a single
fee as previously reported. Applicants for either permit will need a
certified check or money order for $24 made payable to the Virginia
State Police, in addition to $15 payable to the city of Chesapeake.
The city fee can be cash or check. A MetroNews brief Aug. 25
contained an error.
