Otis Lee Boone, 47, of the 2000 block of Nansemond Parkway, a retired teacher, died Aug. 29, 1994, in Sentara Leigh Hospital, Norfolk.
Mr. Boone was born in Nansemond County, son of the late William Thomas Boone and Maggie Wiggins Boone. He was retired from the Southampton County School System and from Planters in Suffolk after 15 years. He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Suffolk. Mr. Boone was a graduate of Norfolk State College with a B.S. degree in history and did further studies at Hampton University.
Survivors include two sisters, Alberta Baton and Delma B. Lassiter, both of Suffolk; three brothers, Robert L. Boone, James W. Boone Sr. and Joseph M. Boone, all of Suffolk; an aunt, Thelma Knight of Suffolk; an uncle, Mark Boone of Belhaven, N.C.; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church Mahan St. by Father Wayne Hodge. Burial will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. There will be no public viewing. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
