RADFORD W. EQUILS

Radford W. Equils, 80, a retired marine engineer, died Sept. 1, 1994, in a local hospital.

Mr. Equils was born in Hyde County, N.C. He was a marine engineer for the U.S. government during World War II and retired from Curtis Bay Towing Co. after 30 years. He was a member of White Hill Freewill Baptist Church, Aurora, N.C., and attended Hyde Park Freewill Baptist Church in Norfolk. He was a Mason.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years, Nellie Lee Equils; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Equils Hyatt and William G. Hyatt Jr. of Virginia Beach; a son and daughter-in-law, James W. Equils and Marcia S. Equils of Laguna Hills, Calif.; five grandchildren, William G. Hyatt III of Chesapeake, Tracy Susan Hyatt of Los Angeles, Shawn Equils Sinclair of Davis, Calif., Douglas J. Equils and Brandon C. Equils, both of Laguna Hills, Calif.

A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
