We've heard talk of a baseball strike.
But here in Hampton Roads, the boys (and girls) of summer are still in there swinging. The Norfolk Tides have two more games, tonight and Saturday, in their baseball palace overlooking the Elizabeth River (call 622-2222 for info).
And there are multitudes of diamond delights around Hampton Roads this weekend as they batter up for the Colonial States National Adult Baseball Association Tournament. The action's Saturday and Sunday at Hampton's War Memorial Stadium, Norfolk State University, Virginia Wesleyan College and other baseball fields around town (call 425-1651).
For an even less stressful spectator sport, hit Chesapeake Beach for the Low-Rent Regatta. It starts at about 10:15 a.m. on Sunday. But you'll want to stroll down early - the sailors launch from the beach near the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel - and watch the colorful catamarans take off into the bay. by CNB
