MAY S. BUNTING

May Lawrence Showard Bunting, 77, died in Virginia Beach, Sept. 8, 1994.

Mrs. Bunting, the daughter of Frank and Daisie Pattison Showard, was born in Richmond and grew up in Chincoteague. She was a graduate of Mary Washington College, class of 1938, and taught school in Accomack County and Norfolk.

Mrs. Bunting is survived by her husband, Capt. John W. Bunting, USNR retired; her daughter, Frances Lawrence Bunting Bennett, and Gary P. Bennett, son-in-law, of Stonington, Conn.; her sons, John W. Bunting, Jr. and Emory Kendall Bunting of Virginia Beach; her granddaughter, Christine Frances Bennett of Barrington, N.H.; and grandson, G. Hall Bennett Jr. of New York City.

A memorial service will be held at the Bayside Presbyterian Church on Monday, Sept. 12, at 2 p.m. Visitors will be received at the home immediately following the service. An interment service will be held at the Bunting Cemetery, Chincoteague, Va., on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 4 p.m.

The family request that no flowers be sent to the church or home and any memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Bunting's name to Hospice Volunteers, 4663 Haygood Road, Suite 211, Virginia Beach, Va. 23455.
