Andrew Paul Deel Sr., 61, of the 100 block of Keeter Barn Road, died Sept. 10, 1994, in Portsmouth.
Mr. Deel was born in Grundy, Va. He was formerly employed with Arnette Construction Co. as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Deep Creek United Methodist Church. He coached Little League Baseball for 10 years with the Deep Creek Baseball Association. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Curtis, Elden and Garnett Deel.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Deel of South Mills; a daughter, Sandy Czarny of Chesapeake; three sons, Andrew P. Deel Jr. and Kenneth L. Deel, both of Chesapeake and Michael A. Deel of Portsmouth; three sisters, Vivian Shearl of Portsmouth, Virginia Smith of Lynchburg and Joyce Smith of Atlanta, Ga.; two brothers, Eugene Deel of Chesapeake and James Deel of Portsmouth; and seven grandchildren, Andrew Paul Deel III, Tyler James Deel, Jesse Lee Deel, Robert Andrew Deel, Alexander Sean Deel, Ashley Nicole Czarny and S. Scott Czarny.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Deep Creek United Methodist Church by the Rev. Bradford L. Phillips. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will be at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel, today from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
