William Wade Cromartie, 76, of the 400 block of Thomas St., died Sept. 11, 1994, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.
He was retired from Cromartie's Taxi Service after many years.
Survivors include one son, Larry Smith of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two daughters, Frelesta Lambert of San Jose, Calif. and Wanda Martin of Franklin; three grandsons; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and two devoted friends, McCoy Fowler and Judy Jones.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Southview Cemetery by the Rev. T.L. Parker. A wake will be held Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. in Elvin Vaughan Funeral Home.
