Amber Jennings (letter, Sept. 11) says Marshall Coleman would withdraw from the Senate race if he were ``a true Republican.''
Ridiculous!
For 25 years, Mr. Coleman has built a well-documented record as a thoughtful and intelligent Republican supported by Virginians who have the best interest of our commonwealth in mind and heart.
To imply that an opportunist of doubtful character - from out of state, supported by single-issue zealots - is the true Republican in the race insults the judgement of Virginia voters.
A close look at the list of highly respected Republicans would prove a person with wide experience and praise such as Marshall Coleman is the wise choice to represent Virginia rather than Oliver North, a flag-waving, self-serving jingoist who is long on contrived image and short on honor and substance.
