James Kyle Gammage, 79, a retired chief petty officer, died Sept. 15, 1994, in Norfolk.
Mr. Gammage was born in Searight, Ala., and was a Protestant. He was a retired CSM, having served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years. He also retired from Castle Cars as a salesman after eight years. He was a veteran of World War II and Korea and a member of Fleet Reserve Association Branch (NU)60.
Survivors include his wife, Midge Gammage; a daughter, Linda Faye Bell of Lynchburg, Va.; a son, Tony Gammage of Chesapeake; a sister, Frances Wright of Lynnhaven, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Brad Bell of Lynchburg, Va., and Anthony Gammage of Chesapeake.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by the Rev. Kenneth King. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. A Fleet Reserve service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where the family will remain until 9 p.m.
